Our Story

After 25 years as a product manager across companies of all sizes, I had been laid off more than once. Each time, I assumed my experience would carry me. It didn't. I was applying to bigger, more established companies and getting screened out before I could even have a real conversation. The problem wasn't my background. The problem was that I was telling my story in the wrong format, using the wrong language, for the wrong audience. Large companies have standardized hiring processes and their interviewers are trained to look for specific structures and signals. My hard-won, unstructured experience was invisible to them.

So I adapted. I hired coaches who gave me hard truths. I studied how candidates at big companies presented themselves. I rewrote my stories to fit the mold without losing what made them real. I practiced until my delivery improved. I got in. And the experience I gained once inside those companies opened doors I would not have had access to otherwise. That process - humbling as it was - is exactly what InterviewBump is designed to help people go through faster and with better support than I had.

Nathan Rohm has spent 25 years in technology as a product manager, often as the first PM at a company - figuring out the role from scratch, building process where none existed, and learning to work across every function. He has been hired, laid off, re-hired, and gone through the full gauntlet multiple times at companies ranging from scrappy startups to some of the biggest names in tech.

Along the way he hired coaches, took classes, studied interview methodology, and developed a preparation system that he refined across every job search. InterviewBump is the codified version of that system, built so anyone can use it - not just people who already know where to look.

His motivation is simple: the interview process rewards preparation, not just experience. People with less experience but better systems beat more qualified candidates every day. That is a problem worth fixing.
